I teach physics, mathematics, and science at the Bundesgymnasium und Bundesrealgymnasium Wien 12.
I am mainly interested in the presentation of modern physics for school classes. Beside teaching I am therefore regularly
concerned with projects developing new material for teaching modern physics. Additional information is available
under publications. I search for further cooperation within this field of activity.
Furthermore I act as a writer on CLIP.
Physical modeling is often based on concepts that had been developed for classical physics but turned out to be
insufficient for the understanding of modern physics. A radical revision of these concepts is necessary at the transition
to modern physics. Most students can hardly cope with this troublesome and time-consuming restructuring of physical ideas
and become convinced that modern physics is neither learnable nor understandable. For this reason they disappointed turn away
from this field. This is a great pity because – inspired by several publication and films of the science fiction
genre – there is no other part of physics students are primarily more interested in than in modern physics.
To no other subjects I am confronted with so many questions as to black holes, to the elapse of time, and to teleportation.
To achieve a preferably proper transition to modern physics what regards the economy of thinking and learning I from
the beginning focus on the development of physical concepts that are appropriate for both classical and modern physics.
